Rocky Mountain Radar RMR-8RD/8RDS Installation Instructions
Your RMR-8RD remote package consists of the following
components:
1 - Display Box
1 - Front Attenna for radar and laser detection
1- Rear Antenna for laser detection
2- Mounting Bracket
2- Dual Lock Tape for front and rear antennas
1- Velcro tape for display box
4 - Special screws for installation of the bracket with antenna
10 - Washer screws for mountain the brackets on the vehicle
10 - Cable ties
1 - Coiled 12V DC Power cord
1 - operators manual
Your RMR-8RDS remote package consists of the following components
above plus the RMR-RS202D Jamming modules.
INSTALLATION
A. Front Antenna

To properly mount this antenna, determine the best location for the front
antenna. The optimal location for mounting the front antenna depends on the
vehicle type. In most vehicles the best mounting location is directly behind
the grill.; however, other locations which provide concealment and/or
protection of the antenna may be acceptable.

Using the supplied mounting brackets, mark the location and drill pilot holes
if necessary.

Fit and attach the mounting brackets using the washer screws

Make sure the lens of the front antenna faces to the driving direction

You can use the included Dual Lock tappe to attach the mounting brackets.
Thoroughly clean any surface before tape is applied.

CAUTION - DO NOT drill holes in the antenna and thoroughly investigate before
drilling any holes.

Keep all cables from moving parts and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses, engine,
etc.)
-
Make sure the antenna is level and has a clear view of the road.
B. Rear Antenna
-
Determine the best location for the rear antenna. For optimum performance,
install the rear antenna on either side of the rear license plate or above the
third brake light in the rear of the car.

Using the supplied mounting bracket, mark the location. Drill pilot holes in
the vehicle if necessary, or use tape.

Fit the mounting brackets using the screws provided and attach the antenna
with lens facing the rear.
C. Display Box
-
Determine the best location for the display(control) box in the car's interior.

Install the display box using the supplied Velcro tape. Make sure display is
visible to the driver. Near the driver's right knee is popular.

Route the 12 volt power cable and plug into the power jack.

The cable from the front and rear antennas plug into their jacks in the back
of the display box
D. Front Antenna Cable
-
Route the cable through the firewall and secure with the supplied cable ties.
-
Detour the cable around any moving parts and hot surfaces by fastening with
the cable ties.

Route the cable into the interior and plug in to display box in the jack
marker "Front".
E. Rear Antenna
-
Route the cable thought the trunck compartment and into the vehicle's interior.

Pull the cable and plu into the jack labeled "Rear" on the display
box.
F. Test
-
After all components are installed correctly, turn the display box on by
pressing the power button. Turnng on the detector triggers the self test mode.
If you hear the multiple tones of the test mode you are ready to go.
